Stuff Backpacks with School Supplies

VESTIA (Volunteer Emergency Services Team in Action)

Come with your school supplies and backpacks and help us fill them for VESTIA.

We will begin sorting the supplies and stuffing the backpacks on Wed., July 28th at 1 p.m. at the Clubhouse and hope to be through by 3 p.m. Come anytime to help!! The more the merrier and it is a fun worthwhile project for the VESTIA children in need.

If you would like to buy supplies and/or fill a backpack for a child in grades Kindergarten thru 12th grade here are some guidelines and the needed contents. Please mark the outside of the backpack with masking tape and label it K-3, 4th-8th, or HS for high school and (if appropriate) if the contents are intended for either a boy or a girl. If you prefer to just buy some supplies or a backpack, that’s fine too! All donations appreciated! Your kind generosity truly makes a difference!

Elementary School Age K-3

  1. Backpack (please, no Blue or Red due to gang affiliation)

  2. Pencils, Eraser & Pencil Sharpener

  3. 1 box of Colored markers

  4. 1 box of Colored pencils

  1. 1 box of Crayons

  2. Scissors

  3. Glue Sticks

  4. Ruler

  5. Pencil Box

  6. Dictionary (optional)

  7. Three Ring Binder

  8. Binder paper (wide ruled)

  9. 2 folders

Grades 4-8

  1. Backpack (please, no Blue or Red due to gang affiliation)

  2. Pencils and sharpener and eraser

  3. Pens (black, blue and 2 red)

  4. Highlighters (one yellow, one other color)

  5. 1 box of colored pencils

  6. Zipper pouch

  7. Spiral notebooks (3)

  8. Paperback dictionary and thesaurus (optional)

  9. Three Ring Binder

  1. Binder paper (college ruled)

  2. Simple business calculator

  3. 2 or 3 Pee Chee type folders

  4. 2 glue sticks

  5. Ruler

  6. Grades - High School

  1. Backpack (please, no Blue or Red due to gang affiliation)

  2. Pencils and sharpener (at least 10 pencils)

  3. Pens (-black, blue, and red- 5 each)

  4. 2 Highlighters (1 Yellow, 1 another color)

  5. 4 Spiral notebooks-college ruled

  9. Scientific calculator

  11. Math kit (compass, protractor etc.)
