Nosh & Explore - tour of the Paramount Theatre building in Oakland

Do you want to see one the world’s best “haunted house” filled with splendid examples of ornate, rococo, gaudy, let-a go-nuts-in-public decorative art?

Join us for a private tour of the Paramount Theatre in Oakland.  On the National Register of Historic Places, Oakland's Paramount Theatre is one of the finest remaining examples of Art Deco design in the United States.  Designed by renowned San Francisco architect Timothy L. Pflueger and completed in late 1931. After its initial brief blaze of "movie palace" glory in the 1930's, the auditorium suffered three decades of neglect until its rescue by the Oakland Symphony and City of Oakland in 1971.

Contact Nancy Logan at grantlogan@aol.com if you are interested in attending.  In addition, there will be a sign-up sheet at the March business meeting.  The cost of the tour is $15 per person and will be followed by lunch at a local restaurant.
